Getting Started with Event Hire

Planning an event and not sure where to begin? Event hire doesn't need to be complicated. Start with the basics — your event date, venue, approximate guest numbers and the type of event you're planning.

Browse our hire range and add the items you're interested in to your wishlist. You don't need to have every detail worked out before getting in touch. Your wishlist gives us a starting point to check availability, delivery requirements and anything else we may need to consider.

Choosing your hire items

Think first about the essentials your guests will need, such as seating, tables and shelter, before adding items like bars, lighting, dance floors, heaters and other finishing touches.

If you're unsure about quantities, send through your approximate guest numbers and event plans. We're happy to help you work out what is practical for your setup.

Sending your wishlist

Once you've added the items you're interested in, submit your wishlist with your event details and venue address. A wishlist is an enquiry rather than a confirmed booking — we'll review the items, check availability and prepare your quote.

Delivery or customer pickup

Swans Lane delivers throughout Geelong, the Bellarine, Surf Coast, Ballarat, Colac and surrounding areas. Customer pickup from North Geelong is also available for selected items.

Our standard and most economical hire period for weekend events is Friday delivery and Monday pickup, giving you extra time without an additional hire charge. Weekend delivery or pickup may attract additional charges.

Once you're happy with your quote

Your quote will outline your hire items and applicable delivery, setup or other charges. Once your booking is confirmed, we'll guide you through the remaining payment and event arrangements.

You can make changes as your plans develop, subject to availability and our booking terms. We recommend finalising quantities and requirements as early as possible as your event approaches.
